We’re currently vacationing on the California coast. In getting to our destination yesterday, I drove from Los Angeles up the coast and through Santa Barbara. For the entire drive I was in awe of the lush green cliffsides, in stark contrast to the dark blue glistening Pacific Ocean. I’ve been here before and I remember it being much dryer and almost a blur of brown and tan. But this time, it was absolutely stunning! I was feasting both visually and spiritually on this drive. As I was talking to some of the local people here, they told me that there had been a lot of rain lately….turns out God had reigned down to provide a feast for the vegetation, in return creating my feast!
God, thank you for the beautiful world you have entrusted us with.
“But ask Behemoth, and he will teach you, the birds in the sky, and they will tell you; or talk to earth, and it will teach you; the fish of the sea will recount it for you. Among all these, who hasn’t known that the Lord’s hand did this? In whose grasp is the life of every thing, the breath of every person?” (Job 12:7-10)
