In the busyness of our daily grinds, it’s much easier than it should be to forget that life is a gift. Far too often we take things for granted and simply go through the motions. We fail to treat time as the precious commodity that it is and aren’t nearly as mindful of how we are investing it as we should be. In all of this, we miss countless opportunities to offer the most important response to the gifts we receive: gratitude. So take some time today to consider your gifts and to be grateful—truly and profoundly grateful.
“Don’t be misled, my dear brothers and sisters. Every good gift, every perfect gift, comes from above. These gifts come down from the Father, the creator of the heavenly lights, in whose character there is no change at all. He chose to give us birth by his true word, and here is the result: we are like the first crop from the harvest of everything he created.” (James 1:16-18)
