There are many ways to prepare for Christmas. We decorate our homes and make travel plans. We wrap presents and mail cards. We bake cookies and plan feasts. We remember those who struggle and support worthy causes. We open our hearts and minds for the miracle of Christ’s birth.
As we participate in these and many other preparations, the Joyful Feast invites you to #FeastOnAdvent with us. On each December day leading up to and including Christmas, the Joyful Feast leadership team will share a favorite recipe inspired by a word drawn from the vocabulary of the season of Advent. We will also include a link to a lectio divina meditation on a scripture reading for the following Sunday. Instead of talking to God, lectio divina (“divine reading”) is a form of prayer that encourages us to listen for God in the repetitive reading of short scripture passages.

We hope you’ll enjoy these recipes and set aside about 10 minutes each day to listen for God amidst the highs and lows of this busy, challenging, chaotic, and blessed season.
